Cypress Fairbanks - Bridgeland

Whether you're seeking a serene stroll with abundant bird watching or a high intensity jog to get your cardio in shape, the numerous trail systems the Bridgeland community offer an outdoor getaway right for you.

For the really young or just young at heart the playgrounds and large open play areas are certain to provide hours of entertainment and laughter.

Providing a natural wetland sanctuary for plant and wildlife habitats, more than 100 acres of lakes and meandering waterways, are available in the first phase of development. The community's master plan incorporates conservation and recreation, creating a design that respects the intrinsic value of the natural environment.

The Bridgeland community is located in the Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District, the third largest school district in the state of Texas, behind the cities of Houston and Dallas. Cy-Fair students benefit from a wide array of challenging academic and extracurricular activities and a low student to teacher ratio of 15 to 1. Seventy-four percent of high school students in Cy-Fair ISD go on to attend college.

Residents will not only be able to enjoy picturesque views of tranquil water but will also be able to spend their leisure time fishing or boating. Over 238,000 specially selected fish were introduced to populate the 100 acres of lakes and offer residents the opportunity to ?reel in the big one on a catch and release basis.

Based on the advice from lake and fishing experts, the lakes were stocked with 5000 Florida Hybrid Bass fingerlings, 3000 Channel Cat fish and over 50,000 Blue Gill Sunfish. Additionally 20,000 Threadfin Shad, 150,000 Fat Head Minnows and 10,000 Golden Shiner were released to provide a food supply. The addition of the fish will provide for recreational fishing as well as act as a natural pest control. Bridgeland will feature several fishing piers and currently offers miles of gently sloping open banks for easy casting with fly rods. Future activities will include residential fishing tournaments, seminars from fishing experts and learn to fish classes for children and adults alike scheduled through the full time activities director.
